This project occurred along Ortega Highway within Orange County, CA. Apex was contracted to repair a slope stretching along 450 feet of the roadway. The scope of work included scaling, rockfall netting, and debris clean up.

The scope of this job includes 1240 hrs scaling, 150,000 LF rock anchor bars, 1,320 LF rock anchor wire rope, 6,000 LF slope drain, 84,672 SY pinned steel mesh, 1200 SY draped mesh. 155 Unit Avalanche Umbrella System.

Project Description: IHC Construction contracted with Drill Tech / Apex to stabilize the near vertical walls at 34 locations within the McCook Stage 2 Reservoir. The McCook Reservoir is located along the Stevenson Expressway between the Des Plaines River and the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal. The project includes the installation of drain holes, rock dowels, anchored mesh, manual scaling, and mechanical scaling.

NDOT I-80 Moor Interchange to Oasis Interchange

This was part of the I-80 Moore interchange project that was done by ww.clyde for the state of Nevada DOT.  It required blasting of several rock slopes to make room for a new truck lane on west side of Pequop summit.  One of the cuts required a mesh system.  Apex installed 27-20 cable anchors along the top of slope and ran a top cable that terminated then started again every 6 anchors.  Apex then hung a TECO drapery mesh system along the face of the slope. Project took about 5 weeks and was finished on time and under budget. Drilling 60 hours. Mesh hung 60,000 sq. Feet. Crane time 2.5 days.
